Some Reflection Thoughts on

Luke 19:11-27

Parable about the Master and servants, who were told to make a profit of money given to them.

1) Money = our debt to God

Obviously, Master is God and servants are us. In the parable the Master owns the money he lends.

2) Money that Master gave to servants = our bodies.

In my Bible next to the verse 12 it’s written – Romans 12:1. I’m not sure how it got there. My best guess would be that it was somebody’s preaching from the churches at home. Although I’m not sure how to interpret this parable up until the end, passage from Romans makes it at least a little more clear.

3) God expects us to USE what He gave us.

In the parable, the Master tells His servants to turn money over for bigger profit. Notice: He does not say how much. All He says is “go and produce more”.

4) God expects us to USE what He gave us for HIS glory.

Master does not say for servants to keep the money to themselves even thought they were the ones who earned it.

5) By disobeying, we acquire Master’s wrath.

In the parable His “enemies” are bitten up in front of Him.

6) By obeying, we will be rewarded according to how well we did our job.

His faithful servants were put in the higher position of leadership in His kingdom.

Application: Use our lives for Him.

hm... that might be a little tricky... hehe
